On 16 September, media students of Rai Foundation took a trip to Doordarshan News Channel, situated at Mandi House in New Delhi. Accompanying them were two faculty members from the department, Mr. Sandeep and Mr. Sudhanshu. They were among the audience of the Genext, a talk show hosted by Priyanka A. Chaudhary. The guests of the show are prominent people in the media industry. Sumit Tondon, the director of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) and Shekhar Iyer, associate editor of the Hindustan Times. The audience had the students from various media institution. The topic of the day was the Evolution of Media in India. Topics such as ethics, commercialism and biasness were on the forefront and so were issues such as repetition, mostly of news on TV. The audiences were also given an opportunity to ask question to the guests regarding the image and functioning of the media. The half hour episode program will be aired at 1:30pm on Saturday the September 18th on DD News.
