Festival of Light in Rai Foundation, Behror

Friday evening was much brighter than any other time of the year. Students of 12 nationalities at Rai Foundation Behror campus celebrated Diwali in its traditional flavour. Students decorated rooms, dormitories and common areas with flowers, lamps, rangolis and colourful lights. Diwali is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. The word "Diwali" means "rows of lighted lamps" or "an array of lamps," and is the most celebrated and important festival celebrated in India today. Students performed pooja of Lord Ganesha & Goddess Lakshmi and enjoyed fireworks. Poonam, a first year FAME student of campus expressed “This is the first time I am celebrating Diwali away from home. The experience of doing the decorations ourselves, sharing the fun with friends is a different feeling and I am enjoying being here”. Campus administration made special arrangements for Diwali celebrations. Mr. Brijesh Singh Head of the department SAMS said “I am very happy to celebrate Diwali with my students of different cultures. We hope this festival brightens up each and every student’s life and they shine bright wherever they go”.
